About Ulm, MT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Ulm is located in Cascade County, Montana, approximately 10 miles southwest of Great Falls and 90 miles northeast of Helena. Situated on the property of early resident William Ulm who established a large ranch in the area in 1865, Ulm is home to a population of approximately 700 residents and a core group of local businesses dedicated to serving the needs of the community.

Ulm is served by the Cascade Public School District and is located within 20 miles of Great Falls University and MSU-Great Falls College of Technology. The majority of Ulm residents commute to work in Great Falls and nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Ulm’s semi-arid climate produces warm pleasant summers and cold snowy winters, perfect weather for enjoying the numerous opportunities for year-round outdoor sports and recreation that dominate the region.

Ulm is bordered to the east by the Missouri and Smith rivers, both popular fly-fishing destinations with ample populations of rainbow and brown trout. The Smith River is popular for floating, kayaking, and canoeing - so much so that floating is allowed by permit only, with permits issued through a lottery drawing held annually in February.

Ulm is located five miles south of First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park, home to what is believed to be one of the oldest and largest buffalo jumps in North America. The park features an on-site educational center that offers buffalo cultural exhibits, an outdoor amphitheater, and interpretative trail, as well as opportunities for hiking, hunting, and wildlife viewing.

Ulm is located just minutes from the considerable attractions and amenities of Great Falls. Notable points of interest include the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, the nation’s foremost authority on the 8,000-mile journey of the Lewis & Clark Expedition across western North America, and the C. M. Russell Museum Complex, home to the most comprehensive collection of Charles M. Russell art and memorabilia in the world.

Conveniently situated along Interstate 15, just south of the city of Great Falls, Ulm is a great place to enjoy the unique pleasures of Central Montana living!
